Ons sit net buite die dorp onder die brug en steek aan. Die blou wolke hang in die lug en ons hoes te lekker. Jy moes daai lyftaal sien, presies soos ons die ooms altyd dophou, linkerhand in die sak en daai pyp so entjie voor jou. Windgat! “Gwaaa ...!!”, ‘n groot slag, ons storm uit en hoog bo in die lug ‘n lang wit streep. Ontploffing op ontploffing. Wesley gil, “Dis ‘n vliegtuig wat daar val ouens!!” Vier dae later kom die weeklikse poslorrie met laas Woensdag se Burger. Die voorblad berig, "Meteoor het tussen Carnarvon en Williston geval, gelukkig geen ongevalle ... " Sjoe!!
